Goatheads Add Veteran Presence with Forward Tyler Drevitch

The New Mexico Goatheads have added nearly 300 games of ECHL experience to their inaugural roster, signing veteran forward Tyler Drevitch to an ECHL contract for the 2026-27 season.

Drevitch joins New Mexico with six seasons of ECHL experience, most recently appearing in 47 games with the Orlando Solar Bears during the 2025-26 season.

“Tyler is a competitive, hard-working veteran who brings energy and pace every time he’s on the ice,” said Head Coach Zack Stortini. “He plays with an edge, isn’t afraid to get into the tough areas, and brings versatility to our lineup. His experience, work ethic, and attention to detail fit the identity we’re building here in New Mexico.”

The 30-year-old has appeared in 297 career ECHL regular-season games with Orlando, Atlanta, Maine, Wheeling and Wichita, recording 90 points (43 goals, 47 assists) and 596 penalty minutes.

Drevitch put together his best offensive season with the Wheeling Nailers in 2022-23, setting career highs with 18 goals, 15 assists and 33 points while playing all 72 regular-season games. He followed it up with another strong campaign in 2023-24, recording 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) and finishing plus-11 in 70 games with the Maine Mariners.

Before turning professional, Drevitch played four seasons at Merrimack College, appearing in 94 NCAA games and serving as team captain during his senior season in 2019-20.

Drevitch brings a combination of experience, toughness and leadership to New Mexico as the Goatheads continue building their inaugural roster.

The Goatheads open the 2026-27 regular season on Friday, Oct. 16, against the Idaho Steelheads at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
