GOATHEADS NAME GINO GUTIERREZ PLAY-BY-PLAY BROADCASTER

The New Mexico Goatheads announced today that New Mexico native Gino Gutierrez will serve as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster for the inaugural 2026-27 season.

Gutierrez brings experience covering hockey in New Mexico, having previously worked with the New Mexico Ice Wolves. A lifelong hockey fan and native New Mexican, he now joins the Goatheads as the franchise prepares to begin its first season of professional hockey in the Land of Enchantment.

“We’re extremely excited to have Gino behind the microphone for our inaugural season,” said Lucas Kalish, Director of Marketing for the New Mexico Goatheads. “It was important for us to have someone who understands New Mexico, knows the hockey community here and shares the excitement surrounding this franchise. Gino brings a genuine passion for the game and for this state, and we’re excited for our fans to get to know him throughout the season.”

For Gutierrez, the opportunity to call professional hockey in his home state represents a dream come true.

“I’m very excited and honored to represent the New Mexico Goatheads during their inaugural season,” said Gutierrez. “As a native New Mexican and lifelong hockey fan, it’s a dream come true to be a part of a pro-hockey franchise in my home state. I can’t wait for puck drop on Oct. 16.”

Gutierrez will call the action throughout the Goatheads’ inaugural campaign, with all New Mexico Goatheads games broadcast live on FloHockey during the 2026-27 season.

The Goatheads will officially begin their inaugural season on Friday, October 16, when they host the Idaho Steelheads at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
